NIVES is hiring an experienced Veterinary Assistant to join our Emergency team on 3rd shift. If you are calm under pressure, thrive in fast-paced environments, and want to be part of a highly skilled emergency team, this is an opportunity to make a meaningful impact in patient care.

Compensation & Schedule

• Competitive pay based on experience

• Shift and weekend differentials available

• 3rd shift with alternating weekends off

• Set schedule with 10–12 hour shifts

What You’ll Do

• Assist technicians and veterinarians with emergency exams and treatments

• Safely restrain patients and support handling during procedures

• Prepare and maintain treatment areas, equipment, and supplies

• Support patient care, including cleaning, feeding, and monitoring comfort

• Collect samples and assist with basic lab tasks as directed

• Maintain accurate records and support communication within the team

• Help ensure a clean, organized, and efficient ER environment

What We’re Looking For

• Previous veterinary experience required (ER experience preferred)

• Strong patient handling and restraint skills

• Ability to stay calm, focused, and efficient in high-pressure situations

• Team-oriented mindset with strong communication skills

• Willingness to learn and grow in a fast-paced emergency setting
