About the job

Company Overview
Enerfab has been solving tough industrial challenges for over 120 years — from our origins in coating beer tanks to building and maintaining critical infrastructure for today’s energy, food & beverage, and heavy industrial markets. With a culture built on safety, integrity, and grit, we pride ourselves on doing what we say and building trust through action.

Built for the Mission? Join a Team That Gets It Done.
Enerfab is proud to support veterans, transitioning service members, and military spouses. Whether you’re completing your military service or looking for a new opportunity after relocating with your family, we value your experience, your mindset, and your leadership.

This internship — also available through the DOD SkillBridge program — is designed to provide real-world exposure to industrial construction projects. You’ll work shoulder-to-shoulder with project teams, assist in planning and execution, and build skills that translate directly into career paths in project management, estimating, engineering, and field leadership.

Military engineers are strongly encouraged to apply, but all backgrounds are welcome. We also encourage military spouses seeking to re-enter the workforce or explore new career paths to apply.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drawing & Plan Review: Use tools like Bluebeam and CAD to interpret 2D and 3D project plans.

  • Project Execution Support: Help develop project-specific documentation to support construction progress.

  • Estimating: Assist in preparing cost estimates and bid proposals alongside experienced estimators.

  • Project Closeout: Support change order documentation, compliance checks, and lessons-learned sessions.

  • Documentation & Submittals: Prepare technical materials, RFI packages, and spec reviews.

  • Safety & Quality Involvement: Participate in safety reviews, root cause investigations, and process improvements.

Who Should Apply

  • Transitioning service members seeking to translate military experience into private-sector impact.

  • Military spouses exploring new career opportunities in construction and engineering.

  • Students pursuing a bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field.

  • Applicants with prior leadership, technical, or project coordination experience — in any setting.

What You Bring

  • Mission mindset and drive to take ownership.

  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office; CAD/Bluebeam experience is a plus.

  • Strong communication skills and attention to detail.
