About the Role & Location We are seeking a compassionate, reliable, and dedicated Direct Support Professional (1099 Independent Contractor) to provide individualized, one-on-one care in Union Mills, NC (Zip Code: 28167). In this role, you will work directly with a member in their home and community, providing flexible PRN Respite care across daytime, evening, and weekend hours to support daily routines, ensure safety, and give family caregivers valuable relief.

Our ideal contractor brings a warm, patient, and person-centered approach, focusing on engaging the member in meaningful activities while maintaining a safe, supportive, and positive environment.

Key Responsibilities
• Respite Support & Supervision: Provide dedicated supervision and support to ensure the member’s safety and well-being during respite hours.
• Daily Living & Engagement: Assist with routine daily tasks and facilitate engaging, age-appropriate activities at home or in the community.
• Goal Support & Safety: Partner with care coordinators and family members to follow care plans, adhere to safety guidelines, and maintain structured routines.
• Reliable Communication: Maintain clear and open communication regarding scheduling and member care.

Schedule & Pay Rate This 1099 Independent Contractor position pays:
• Respite Care: $15.50 per hour

Work Schedule:
• Respite Hours: Flexible PRN availability, including some evenings, weekends, and daytime hours (Specific shifts coordinated based on family needs and contractor availability).

Qualifications
• Contractor Status: Must be willing to contract as a 1099 Independent Contractor.
• Education: High school diploma or equivalent (required).
• Experience: Experience supporting individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities preferred.
• Transportation: Valid North Carolina Driver’s License, reliable personal vehicle, and active auto insurance (required).
• Screening: Ability to pass standard background check.
