About the Role & Location We are seeking a compassionate, reliable, and dedicated Direct Support Professional (1099 Independent Contractor) to provide individualized, one-on-one care in Indian Trail, NC (Zip Code: 28079). In this role, you will work directly with a member in their home and community, providing Respite care on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday evenings from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM, with additional PRN options available on Saturdays to support daily routines, ensure safety, and give family caregivers valuable relief.

Our ideal contractor brings a warm, patient, and person-centered approach, focusing on engaging the member in meaningful activities while maintaining a safe, supportive, and positive environment.

Key Responsibilities
• Respite Support & Supervision: Provide dedicated supervision and support to ensure the member’s safety and well-being during evening and weekend respite hours.
• Daily Living & Engagement: Assist with routine evening tasks and facilitate engaging, age-appropriate activities at home or in the community.
• Goal Support & Safety: Partner with care coordinators and family members to follow care plans, adhere to safety guidelines, and maintain structured routines.
• Reliable Communication: Maintain clear and open communication regarding scheduling and member care.

Schedule & Pay Rate This 1099 Independent Contractor position pays:
• Respite Care: $15.50 per hour

Work Schedule:
• Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday: 5:00 PM – 9:00 PM (12 hours per week)
• Saturday: PRN availability as needed

Qualifications
• Contractor Status: Must be willing to contract as a 1099 Independent Contractor.
• Education: High school diploma or equivalent (required).
• Experience: Experience supporting individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities preferred.
• Transportation: Valid North Carolina Driver’s License, reliable personal vehicle, and active auto insurance (required).
• Screening: Ability to pass standard background check.
