About the job
The role
When a prior authorization stalls, a patient with severe depression waits for a treatment that might finally work. When a claim denies, we're usually learning about a mistake made weeks earlier at intake, at scheduling, or in the clinical note. Revenue cycle is where we find out whether our operations actually work.
Reporting to our CFO, you'll own revenue cycle across our network and the operational changes that make it work. Coding is in-house today, and billing runs through an outsourced partner. In your first year, you'll decide whether that's the right model and lead the change if it isn't.
Early on, expect to pull a month of denials and trace the biggest patterns back to a single intake question or documentation gap. You'll sit with coders to see where notes fall short, and sit across from our billing partner with data to agree on what good looks like.
What you'll do
- Own revenue cycle end to end: eligibility, prior authorization, charge capture, coding, claims, denials, AR, and patient collections.
- Go upstream. Trace denials and delays back to intake, scheduling, documentation, and credentialing, and work with operations, clinical, and product teams to change the workflow rather than rework the claim.
- Lead the in-house coding team and manage our billing partner with clear SLAs and accountability.
- Within 12 months, evaluate our operating model (in-house, outsourced, or hybrid), make the case, and lead the transition if we change.
- Work as a peer to finance on forecasting, cash, month-end close, and payer contract performance. Own the metrics: clean claim rate, denial rate, days in AR, and net collection rate.
- Partner with product to automate revenue cycle work in RadialOS and with AI.
- Manage a payer mix that spans commercial plans, Medicare, Tricare, and VA Community Care.
Backgrounds we think could thrive here
- Revenue cycle leaders at multi-site specialty groups, such as infusion, oncology, neuromodulation, or behavioral health
- Leaders from RCM or health-tech companies who want to be on the operator side
- Finance leaders who came up through revenue cycle and want to own it again
- Operators at PE-backed physician groups who've moved billing in-house or out
This list isn't a checklist. If you see yourself in one of these, we'd like to talk. If you don't but the role still sounds like you, we'd like to talk too.
You may be a great fit if you
- Have read a payer policy closely enough to find the one clause causing a wave of denials.
- Would rather change an intake form than hire another person to work denials.
- Can explain a revenue variance to a CFO and its root cause to a front desk.
- Have moved billing between a vendor and an in-house team and can tell us what broke along the way.
- Make the in-house vs. vendor call with data, then own the outcome.
- Use AI to find denial patterns, draft appeals, and automate repetitive work, and push your team to do the same.
Nice to have
- Experience with behavioral health, interventional psychiatry, or neuromodulation billing
- Experience with specialty drug buy-and-bill
- Coding or revenue cycle certifications (CPC, CRCR, or similar)
How we work
Work backwards from the patient. We start with what a patient experiences and build back from there. Sometimes that means launching later, or killing something that looks great on a dashboard but doesn't help anyone get treated.
Urgency with care. Many of our patients arrive after years of treatments that didn't work, and every week of delay costs them. We move fast. We also work with people at their most vulnerable, so we never trade safety or dignity for speed.
Write it down. We decide in writing. Meetings start with silent reading of a PRFAQ or short doc, so the best argument wins instead of the loudest voice. It's slower to write and faster to decide.
Conviction with an open mind. Bring a point of view and argue for it. Change your mind when someone shows you something better, not when they push harder. Once the call is made, back it as if it were yours.
Own the problem, not the lane. Go to where the work happens and learn the details until you understand them better than anyone. If a patient is waiting because of a broken handoff two teams away, it's yours until it's fixed or clearly in someone else's hands. Clinical decisions stay with our clinicians: your job is to raise the issue, not make the call.
Our commitment
Our patients come from every background, and we design for the ones the system has served worst. We build teams the same way. Radial is an equal opportunity employer. We don't discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, age, disability, veteran status, or any other protected characteristic.
Plenty of great candidates rule themselves out too early. If you care about this problem but don't check every box, apply and let us make that call after we've talked.
Why we exist
Most people with treatment-resistant depression, PTSD, or OCD spend years cycling through medications before anyone mentions there are other options. Treatments like accelerated TMS, SAINT, Spravato, and IV ketamine can work when nothing else has. They're also hard to find, hard to get covered, and hard to deliver well. That gap is why Radial exists.
We support the country's largest network of brain medicine clinics: 27 clinics and more than 100 clinicians across seven states, caring for patients with some of the most serious mental health conditions there are. RadialOS, our AI-native operating system, matches patients to the right treatment, coordinates their care, and takes administrative work off clinicians' plates. We're backed by General Catalyst, and in 2026 we acquired the MSO behind Mindful Health Solutions, one of the pioneers of interventional psychiatry.
Every role here supports our mission of getting patients access to the care they need as quickly as possible.
