AvaMed Workforce is hiring a Licensed Psychiatric Technician (LPT) or Registered Nurse (RN) for a 6-month contract at Pelican Bay State Prison in Crescent City, CA (Medical, 8-hour shifts, 2 weeks of orientation).
Assignment details
- Location: Pelican Bay State Prison, Crescent City, CA
- Dates: 11/30/2026 - 05/30/2027
- Shift: Thursday-Monday, 1:30 PM-10:00 PM (Evenings), 30-minute meal
- Orientation: 2 weeks

Responsibilities
- Provide nursing and psychiatric care to incarcerated patients
- Give medications and treatments and document care accurately
- Respond to medical emergencies and coordinate with providers and custody
- Follow all safety, security and contraband procedures
Requirements
- Active California LPT license (BVNPT) or California RN license (BRN)
- Current BLS (AHA)
- Correctional or behavioral health experience preferred
- Background check and facility security clearance
- TB test, immunizations and facility health clearances
