About the job

At Affirm, we exist for the moments that matter—giving people a clear, predictable way to pay over time, with no hidden fees, no surprises, and no tradeoffs on what matters most.

About the Product team

The Product team listens to our customers’ needs and translates those insights into a clear product vision. The team works closely with design, engineering, and analytics to build scalable financial products that empower people to manage their money with confidence. We rely on empathy, curiosity, and business sense to prioritize features and improve experiences. Our role is to lead with clarity, support cross-functional execution, and champion the user in every decision.

About the role

Affirm’s financial platforms power how loans are created, recorded, funded, serviced, and repaid, as well as how money moves across our products, partners, and markets. We’re looking for a Senior Director of Product Management to lead a portfolio spanning Capital and Affirm Bank, Loan Products, and Payment Services.

This leader will oversee a large, multi-domain product organization of approximately 15 product managers, including experienced people managers, with room to grow. They will set the long-term strategy for their portfolio, modernize Affirm’s ledger and downstream financial pipelines, strengthen Payment Services, and expand our Money Movement capabilities. The ideal candidate brings deep financial-domain knowledge, strong platform judgment, international experience, and a record of developing senior product leaders.

What you’ll do

  • Lead and scale a high-performing product organization. Manage and develop experienced product leaders and people managers across Capital and Affirm Bank, Loan Products, and Payment Services. Shape the organization as its scope and size grow, while setting a high bar for product craft, strategy, execution, and talent development.
  • Set the multi-year strategy for the portfolio. Establish a coherent direction across lending, Capital Markets, banking, the loan lifecycle, ledger and accounting capabilities, Money Movement, Open Banking, payment instruments, and processing.
  • Modernize Affirm’s ledger and financial pipelines. Lead the strategy for evolving the systems that record and reconcile financial activity and support downstream Capital Markets, accounting, reporting, and Money Movement workflows. Improve scalability, reliability, controls, and development speed while protecting critical financial operations.
  • Strengthen Payment Services. Develop the strategy for Open Banking, payment instruments, processing, routing, and related payment infrastructure. Improve payment success, resilience, processing flexibility, and transaction economics across Affirm’s products and markets.
  • Expand Money Movement capabilities. Build the platforms and controls needed to support new account-based products, funds flows, payment rails, and financial experiences. Ensure settlement, reconciliation, reporting, and operational processes can scale with increasing product and geographic complexity.
  • Advance Affirm’s lending, capital, and banking platforms. Guide the evolution of Loan Products, loan-lifecycle capabilities, Capital Markets systems, and Affirm Bank infrastructure. Develop shared capabilities that support new products and reduce fragmentation across financial systems.
  • Deliver meaningful business and customer impact. Establish clear goals and success metrics across platform reliability, payment performance, processing costs, reconciliation accuracy, operational efficiency, financial controls, and the speed of launching new products and markets.
  • Make sound platform investment decisions. Balance architectural modernization with product growth, regulatory requirements, operational risk, and near-term business needs. Establish clear sequencing and migration strategies for complex, interconnected systems.
  • Drive cross-functional alignment at scale. Partner closely with Engineering, Analytics, Capital Markets, Treasury, Finance, Risk, Operations, Legal, Compliance, and Servicing to establish shared priorities and translate strategy into coordinated execution.
  • Enable global scale. Build platform capabilities that support international markets and account for differences in payment rails, banking relationships, currencies, regulation, legal entities, controls, and operating models.
  • Influence senior leadership. Clearly communicate strategy, investment priorities, performance, dependencies, and tradeoffs to executive stakeholders. Help shape decisions across the broader Financial Platforms organization.

What we look for

  • 15+ years of product management experience, including leading large, high-performing teams of PMs and people managers across multiple domains
  • Demonstrated manager-of-managers experience, including developing senior leaders, designing organizations, hiring strong teams, and managing through growth and change
  • Substantial experience across several relevant domains, including lending, Capital Markets, regulated banking, financial ledgers or accounting systems, Money Movement, payment processing, Open Banking, or consumer payments
  • Direct experience leading complex platform or architecture transformations involving high-stakes financial systems
  • Proven ability to define and execute multi-year strategies spanning customer experiences, complex platforms, and operational capabilities
  • Strong knowledge of how money moves across financial products, institutions, processors, bank partners, and markets, including settlement, reconciliation, reporting, and operational controls
  • Experience building financial products or platforms across multiple countries and navigating differences in payment rails, banking relationships, regulation, legal entities, currencies, and operating models
  • Track record of driving alignment and execution across Engineering, Analytics, Capital Markets, Treasury, Finance, Risk, Operations, Legal, Compliance, and executive leadership
  • Exceptional leadership and communication skills, with the ability to create clarity, influence senior stakeholders, and develop strong product leaders
  • Proficiency with AI-assisted tools to accelerate analysis, decision-making, and team effectiveness
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience
