Career Coach

Goodwill Industries of Mid-Michigan is seeking a full-time Career Coach position at our location on Averill Ave. in Flint.

 $17.13 / hour plus a 20% discount on in-store purchases.
Work week: Monday - Friday 
No nights - No weekends

Essential duties and responsibilities:

• Assist individuals with workplace skills development 
• Support and assist the development and promotion of each individual’s goals.
• Coordinate tasks/jobs within Goodwill locations and/or community sites.
• Assist individuals in developing their micro-enterprise business.
• Ensure supplies are properly secured for each job.
• Coach and promote personal growth for each individual to reach quality standards.

Education and Experience:

• High school diploma required, with a preference toward those with an Associate’s Degree.
• At least one year of experience working with people who have disabilities.
• Previous production and/or training experience of at least two years is highly desirable.
• Must have computer skills and be able to type a minimum of 30 words per minute.
• Experience in small business community preferred.
• Graphic Design experience is a plus but not required.

Other Qualifications:

• Ability to function as a job coach for people with disabilities.
• Dependable, tact, resourcefulness, initiative, and good judgment.
• Must have reliable transportation, a valid driver’s license, a safe driving record and maintain car insurance.
• May require lifting up to 25 pounds.
• Requires standing and/or walking for periods of time.
