Head of Capital Formation

Location: NYC (onsite only – not remote)

Alliance is the leading accelerator for frontier founders. Since 2020 we've backed 300+ startups building on the frontiers of fintech and crypto (such as Rain, Pump, Kamino, Jupiter and many more), now collectively valued at $17B+.

We're hiring a Head of Capital Formation to own fundraising for Alliance's venture funds end-to-end: strategy, marketing, IR, pipeline, and close.

What you'll do

• Own the raise: Lead and execute Alliance's capital formation plan across institutional allocators (e.g., fund of funds, family offices, foundations, endowments, pension plans, wealth management platforms) and HNWIs. You source, pitch, and close.
• Build and run the LP pipeline: Own lead sourcing, qualification, and pipeline management. Bring the right prospects to the firm’s General Partners at the right moment, and run the process through to signed commitments.
• Be the voice of Alliance to investors: Serve as the main point of contact for prospective and existing LPs. Communicate our strategy, track record, and edge clearly. Own the deck, data room, and other core investor materials (DDQs, RFPs, LP Letters and more).
• Turn LPs into repeat LPs: Build long-term relationships with existing and prospective allocators. Keep them close between raises and bring them back fund after fund.
• Shape the strategy: Work with the GPs on fund positioning, sizing, timing, and the long-term investor relations plan.
• Build the brand: Oversee development of pitch decks and marketing materials. Assist in planning and executing AGM and other LP engagement events. Build thought leadership and connections through content, conferences, and media engagements.

What we're looking for

• Capital raising track record: 8+ years raising for venture, private equity, private credit, or hedge funds, with closed >$40m closed directly attributable to you. Raised for an emerging manager or an early fund, where you sold on conviction rather than a 20-year track record.
• An existing allocator network: Warm relationships with fund of funds, family offices, and HNWIs. This is a must have.
• Tech fluency: 5+ years in crypto, fintech, AI or tech. You can hold your own with allocators on Alliance’s edge and business.
• Sales and relationship skills: Clear communicator, strong negotiator, high degree of professionalism and discretion.
• Pipeline discipline: Can run a long sales cycle in a CRM, keep the funnel full, and automate where it makes sense.
• Entrepreneurial and high agency: Self-driven, spots what's broken, and takes ideas through to completion.
• Frequent travel: NYC is home base, but you'll be on the road often, including SF and internationally.

• Prioritizing work/life balance: this role demands focus, hunger, and a career-defining level of commitment. You must be locked in.
• Low agency: if you need someone else to set your priorities or keep you on track, you will fail.
• You can't relocate to NYC. This is non-negotiable: our founders are here, our brand is strongest here, and so are we. You'll travel to SF often, but you'll live in New York.
