Security Technician ( Bosch Video Surveillance ) - Tampa

MCS is hiring for a Security Technician ( Bosch Video Surveillance )  in Tampa, FL. This is a full-time, permanent position with benefits.

A Security Technician with Bosch Experience is responsible for installing, configuring, troubleshooting, and maintaining integrated electronic security systems, with a core focus on Bosch video surveillance, access control, and intrusion products.

• System Installation & Integration: Mount, wire, aim, focus, and configure fixed and PTZ IP cameras, access control panels, intrusion devices, and related hardware according to blueprints and Bills of Materials (BOM).
• Work with the Bosch Video Management System (BVMS), Video Recording Manager (VRM), and Bosch intrusion/alarm panels for device discovery, configuration, commissioning, and firmware updates. 
• Troubleshooting & Diagnostics: Diagnose video dropouts, PTZ control faults, PoE/power failures, network communication issues, and damaged low-voltage cabling.
• Cabling & Infrastructure: Pull, terminate, label, and test low-voltage cabling (Cat6/6A, coax) and verify switch-port and network link status.
• Maintenance & Documentation: Perform preventive maintenance, document service tickets, update as-built drawings, and train end users on proper system operation.

• Experience: Typically 3 to 5+ years of hands-on field experience in the integrated security, low-voltage, or CCTV/IP video industry. 

• Technical Skills:
  • Strong understanding of IP networking (TCP/IP, PoE, subnetting, switch configurations).
  • Ability to read architectural blueprints, wiring schematics, and camera schedules.
  • Proficiency with industry hand/power tools, multimeters, and cable testers. 

• Certifications (Preferred):
  • Bosch BVMS Technical Certification or training through the Bosch Security Academy.
  • Low-voltage or networking credentials such as BICSI, CompTIA Network+, or OSHA 10. 

• License & Clearances: Valid driver’s license with a clean driving abstract and the ability to pass background checks or government/public-trust security clearances as required by the site.
